What happens if I get caught by a speed camera when driving my leased vehicle?
Within 14 days, the ticket will be sent directly to the finance provider who is the registered owner or keeper of the vehicle. The finance provider will then forward it to you, usually with an administration fee of £25.
Is it possible to drive my leased car abroad?
Yes, you can take your leased car abroad for a certain period of time, depending on the options and arrangements you have discussed with your finance provider. Just inform them ahead of time if you have plans to go overseas – this will allow them to process the necessary paperwork to avoid legality issues.
Will I be able to customise or design my leased car?
For leased vehicle modifications, it is advised that you request them at the point of order. Small and reversible modifications are also allowed, as long as they can be removed at the end of the contract term without damaging the vehicle. Just take note of the risks involved with these changes, as they could cost you your vehicle’s warranty.
Will I be liable for any damage to my leased car?
At the end of the contract, you must return your leased vehicle in accordance with the fair wear and tear requirements – the damage that occurs as a result of normal use during the lease period. Be mindful of the BVRLA fair wear and tear standards. These guidelines will be provided by your finance company and they will help you to avoid liabilities.
